Constructed in 2008, and opened in 2009, Killeen Castle hosts a magnificent Jack Nicklaus Signature Course designed and constructed by arguably the game’s greatest golfer, and the world’s prominent course designer. With a record 18 major championships and close to 300 golf courses designed around the world, Jack who is a true legend of the game, has described Killeen Castle as “one of my proudest designs”.
Spaciously rambling over 350 acres among superb natural woodlands, Jack has created some legendary golf holes, and a course that can be set up to provide the sternest of championship challenges, whilst remaining playable and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. The course showcases modern golfing excellence in terms of both design and presentation, and it is a testament to the quality of Jack’s creation that the course was awarded the honour of the host venue of The 2011 Solheim Cup. Killeen Castle Golf Club also hosted 3 Ladies Irish Opens (2011, 2012 and 2013).
Pure bent grasses have created putting surfaces that run true and fast all year round, and the extensive 530km of drainage ensures that the course is playable all year round in any weather.
Located in the heart of Co. Meath, Killeen Castle Golf Club is conveniently located just 35mins from Dublin City Centre, and 30mins from Dublin Airport.
We look forward to welcoming the competitors of the ‘Irish Kids Golf Tour’ Easter Trophy for their inaugural visit to this world class golf course, and showcasing a truly unique and memorable golf experience to all the competitors.
